Dear pops,
I haves foughts in so many battles that I cans barely remember the times. All thats sticks in my head is the thought of bloody people all over the battlefield. I have eaten lotsa salt pork and hardtack. That gettysburg battle was a whoopin. We got flanked and banged all the way back. So many of our great men fell to the bloody union. I hope to win me a battle soon because this war might have taken a turn.
